In May 2019, an international scientific conference entitled “The Future of Media, Mediatization, Journalism and Communication” took place at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz (Poland) on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the university and the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s heritage. The most innovative minds in human history, like da Vinci, have determined the development of civilization, including innovations in the field of media and communication. Leonardo was to be an inspiration for conference participants who came from various countries and continents to discuss about the future of media, journalism and communication. (…) However, this book is not a collection of conference papers, but a monograph consisting of 14 chapters, and written by researchers (conference participants) representing the Institute of Communication and Media of Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz and other universities from Central and Eastern Europe.
